Two decades of visual storytelling across the Middle East — from Iraq's oil fields to Caspian offshore platforms — producing content for British Petroleum and international energy majors.
View selected workFor more than twenty years, Huseyin Onan has operated as an embedded visual journalist for the energy industry. His principal client has been British Petroleum, for whom he has documented operations across Iraq, Oman, Azerbaijan, the UAE and beyond — always on location, always in close proximity to the work.
His photographs and films do not flinch from the industrial realities of oil and gas production. Flare stacks and pipelines, workers in heat and dust, the strange beauty of infrastructure at scale — these are his recurring subjects.
Equally at ease with a still camera or a film crew, Onan manages full production cycles — from initial location recce and shoot planning through to post-production, colour grade and delivery. His work has appeared in annual reports, safety campaigns, broadcast documentaries and stakeholder communications.
Based between Istanbul and the field, he is available for commissions requiring high-security-clearance access in restricted territories.
